Now is a great time to buy a home

Buyers who are in the market for a home need to understand that now is still a great time to buy even though the tax credit has expired.  Some people might think that because the government is no longer giving out free money and interest rates have gone up to 5% that the time to buy has gone and passed.  The truth is that now is an even better time to buy than 1-year ago.  Kansas City values had not hit bottom 1-year ago and continued to drop.  People who bought 1 year ago might have received a tax credit, but chances are they paid more for a home than it would be worth today.  Not to mention some lenders are still offering rates on 30 year fixed mortgages below 5%.  Buy now before home values and rates start going up again!
